Which Shopify stores can use LUMA?
Any standard Shopify store can install LUMA from the Shopify App Store. Storefront chat works out of the box; Instagram DMs require an Instagram Business or Creator account.

Does it understand Egyptian Franco-Arabic?
Yes. Franco-Arabic (Egyptian Arabic typed in Latin letters) and Egyptian Arabic script are both core capabilities, alongside English.
How does it know my products and orders?
After you install LUMA, it reads your store's catalog, inventory, policies, and order data directly from Shopify. Prices and stock come from your real store, not a script.
What happens when it isn't sure?
LUMA scores its own confidence on every reply. When the catalog, policy, or order data doesn't clearly support an answer, it stops replying and hands the conversation to your team with full context.
Can I or my team take over a conversation?
Yes. Once LUMA hands off a conversation, it pauses on that thread so you or a teammate can reply without LUMA talking over you.
How is customer data handled?
Conversation content and the Shopify data LUMA reads are used to answer customers. Its AI provider is Claude by Anthropic; see our Privacy Policy for retention and your rights.
What do I need to set it up?
Install LUMA from the Shopify App Store, then connect an Instagram Business or Creator account if you want DM coverage. LUMA reads your store's catalog and order data once it's connected.
Is WhatsApp supported?
Not yet. WhatsApp is on the roadmap; today LUMA covers Instagram DMs and Shopify storefront chat.
How do plans count conversations?
Each plan includes a number of conversations per day (Free 20, Starter 200, Growth 600, Pro 1,500). A conversation is a customer chat that LUMA handles that day, across Instagram DMs and storefront chat combined. For edge cases, reach out to team@luma-bot.com.
